About Me

My name is Noah Tincher and I am a senior left-handed pitcher at Saint Joseph’s University. From the moment I first touched a baseball, I knew I wanted to play for as long as I could. I worked throughout my grade school and high school years in order to earn a division I scholarship. My career didn’t exactly go as planned, but along the way I found a passion for coaching and helping others.

This project is a product of my senior capstone. My mission for this project is for it to not only be a culmination of all of my knowledge and hard work as a student, but as an athlete as well. I wanted this project to showcase my career in baseball and what the game has taught me, but also my future and how I plan to stay in the game.

My Story

As a kid, according to me, I was a budding professional athlete, actor, and musician. Needless to say, I was involved in everything I possibly could be. As I got older, the activities I participated in started to dwindle, until it became only baseball at the end of my senior year of high school. Once I got to college, my obsession with the game grew to an unhealthy amount. I wanted to succeed so badly that I was suffering from severe performance anxiety. This led to questioning whether I even belonged at the division I level.

Through hard-work and an open mind, I was able to understand my anxiety and the effect that baseball had on my mental health. This gave me the freedom to enjoy baseball in a way that I hadn’t since I was a kid. This extremely difficult challenge showed me that I really still enjoy the game. It also revealed my desire to stick around it for as long as I could. Through this, I also learned that I want to help other athletes handle their own adversity and reach their goals.
